How to make a sidestand longer?
« on: January 05, 2020, 06:53:07 PM »
I've a 2019 Tiger 800 XRx Low. I had the suspension redone - a Nitron rear shock and new fork springs - and had the bike raised about half an inch.
As a result, the sidestand is now just a tad short. So I thought I'd buy one of those cheap sidestand extenders off ebay, as they come with a shoe that's about 1/4 inch high, and I thought that would just do the job, but it doesn't fit (perhaps it was intended for an earlier model? - the description wasn't clear). Any ideas on ways to make the stand just a smidgeon longer?

Weld a thicker piece of metal to the bottom of the side stand foot.
Side stand extenders are usually designed to increase the footprint of the stand so it does not sink into soft ground rather than to make the stand longer.
