Anyone advise on NorthernGermany and Denmark for a bike trip?
« on: January 05, 2020, 10:30:17 PM »
Hello

Can anyone advise if Denmark is recommended as a destination for a motorcycle trip. We would be travelling from Ijmuiden ferry terminal ad heading up from there. We have 6 days to tour around before heading back. We are just looking for a change from doing Germany Black Forest, Belgium etc And are limited to one week away so Denmark has came to our attention and we were just hoping if someone can offer advice, including how expensive things are ( specifically fuel, food and beer if Im honest)

Any advice regarding the above would be appreciated.

Thank you

We were there sprouts to Norway,  fuel slightly cheaper in Denmark, Copenhagen good for a day trip on the bus as bike parking is by fee.  Also, head up to Skagen to see the Kattegat meet the Sagerarak
Petrol slightly cheaper in DK and beer ok from shops.
Also in Germany we went to the Panzer museum, probably bigger than Bovington but just as interesting.  Then there's the Mohne and Eder came on the route back + a visit to Buy Gibson's grave in Holland, where there is a very good Chinese buffet!   I can give you lots more info!

Honestly Copenhagen is a nice city, but there's nothing much to do otherwise, I'd advise you to rather get in Sweden, Gottenburg is my favorite place there, the whole region near Karlstad is very nice, several national parcs and beautiful nature, if that is your cup of tea !

A group of us went to Denmark for the Triumph Britannia rally in August '19 at Rodkaersbro, that makes it a great trip, we had 3 nights there for 15 with good bands on Friday & Saturday evenings, a good scran on the sat teatime for 12, with cheap strong beer all w/e. The UK won best country turnout with 26.

We had been to the Sweden Britannia rally the w/e before & popped back into Germany for some proper beer, had a great time at Langballigau, excellent fish restaurant with good beer, that good we stayed 3 nights. Camped 400metres away at Westerholz. Recommend that for a stop off. Our first stop from Rotterdam was at Scharbeautz approx. 40 miles NE of Hamburg, that was good, proper Italian caff just 100 yards from our campsite. Grand little holiday town.
