Trigger wire in tail for Hyperlites
« on: January 18, 2020, 01:29:03 AM »
I've got a 2018 800XRt, and I'm having trouble determining the best trigger wire in the tail assembly (rat's nest) to use for my Hyperlites. Suggestions appreciated (especially if you have pics). Thanks in advance.

I decided that a replacement rear oem light was cheaper than buggering up the wiring harness, so I took my supply from between  the  rear light unit and the connector. No photos as it's all buried away!  The advantage of this as well is that you can remove the unit and work on it in your own space rather than messing around in the 🐀nest!
At the time I couldn't find a matching connector to make a link ( no cutting of any wires then)
Just be sure you're not CANbussing yourself!
I got a used rear unit as a spare for 25
The thread recently on " what's this connector " has links to suppliers of the various connectors .
Good luck

Try this for the 2018/2019 model (with TFT display)...

I assume you want a permanent feed with ignition on .. so you want the 'yellow' wire constantly feeding the tail light. The green/purple is the brake signal so only live when you apply the brakes. Black is the common earth return for both tail and brake circuits.
