Ok thanks. So is it safe to assume if you get your bike serviced at the correct intervals then it will be checked and serviced accordingly or is it something the owner has to do?
Im thinking if your just doing road riding in bright sunny conditions then not much of a problem but if you off road and riding in all conditions then could be a problem.
What I will say is looking at it looks a bit of a naff set up to me bit Heath Robinson you would think Triumph could come up with something a bit better than a load of levers and nuts and bolts but hey what would I know.

I'd say it isn't really an issue in Northern Europe, dusty conditions seem to affect it most.

The stepper motor isn't on the service schedule so I certainly wouldn't rely on a dealer tech doing it
