Buzzy mirrors - help please 🙏
« on: February 08, 2020, 11:06:09 PM »
Does anyone have a solution for mirror vibration on my 2019 tiger 800 XRT please?
I am finding it a real problem when coming up a slip road on to a motorway, and also when preparing to overtake.
I took the bike back to the dealership, they changed the mirrors under warranty but said the tigers all had the problem - surely there is a solution??
Thanks

IMO - It's either a (new) 'Gen 3' Tiger issue or I smell some definite BS. Never had any vibration issues with my (2015 Gen 2 XRt) mirrors .. but plenty of rust issues .
Also owned my 1979 Bonnie T140E from new!

Same here my '14 and '16 mirrors were and have been rock solid.
I'd be checking then torque on the engine mounts to start with and work from there.

My 18 xrt mirrors vibrate too. It was mentioned in one of the press write ups. Someone suggested sticking a wheel weight to the back. Not had a chance to try though. Maybe heavier bar ends may help.

Never had that problem on my 19 XRT. As others have said the same, the dealer comment that "they all do that sir" is therefore not true.

I guess though it is possible that some have vibey mirrors and some don't, due to very small differences in each bike's construction.

The mirrors on the 2019 800 look same as the 2019 Tiger Sport mirrors. All the TS owners of that model complain of the buzzy mirrors, some say only the RH one.

'Prilly mirrors are cheap.
