Doing the rounds
« on: February 23, 2020, 01:11:12 PM »
Hi All,

Some of you may recognise me depending on previous bikes. I ran a Tiger 1050 for 10 years and was pretty active on that forum. Switched to a 1200 about 18 months ago because I fell in love with the engine, but have now decided that it's just too damn heavy for the way I like to ride. So I've had a rush of blood and already arranged to chop the big beast in for a 900 at the end of March. Will this place be accommodating 900 stuff or is there likely to be a whole new forum?

Hi and :401:

There was a discussion with Admin and I'm sure the result was to incorporate the 900 here as it is still a Tiger.  :028:
Also owned my 1979 Bonnie T140E from new!

We don't stop playing because we grow old .. WE GROW OLD BECAUSE WE STOP PLAYING!!!

I had an 800, then a 1050 Sport, then an Explorer 1200 and now back to a 2019 800, undecided on the new 900, but pretty happy with the 800 for much the same reasons as you, plus if you were active on the 1200 forum, I was the one who blew the head gasket twice !

The only things I miss are the mental acceleration above 5,000rpm and the shaft drive, but then 4,500 miles in and I haven't needed to adjust the chain, so not as big a deal as I thought  :028:

Going Rally Pro. Can't resist that white frame and matt khaki scheme! Plus, I actually want to do some rougher stuff. My 1200 is the XCx and I looked at the mid spec Rally, but once I'd added the extras I actually wanted it came out more expensive than the Pro that already had those extras plus some other bits.
