Where did you end up taking it, and how much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?  I'm in South Derbyshire and use Pidcock Triumph.  I've often thought about using Chesterfield Triumph.

I used Mark from http://motorcycle-tyres-midlands.co.uk/motorbike-tyres-chesterfield.htm
He comes to you and has pricing based on what needs doing. Service today cost 230.
Extra costs would have been valve adjustment and shims, rocker cover gasket and greasing head race bearings if required.

I did my own service at 12,000  The head race and all of the rear suspension were quite dry of grease.  Looks like the factory save a few pence per build.

If it's a keeper, I'd suggest going through it and greasing where required.

I took the bike over in a van and returned for it a week later and rode it home.

+1 for Clive Wood. Did my 12K and 18K last year and year before. It's probably about 60-65 miles for you in Chesterfield, as you'd most likely go through Newark like I do which is a fun road from other side of J29/J28/J27 once you clear Mansfield/Sutton etc.. Straight but boring run from Newark down A17.

Great guy, great service and as others have said, bacon butties on arrival and endless tea/coffee. 12K is most of the day, by the time its cooled down, 18K a solid morning.

Go in spring /summer as A17 in a morning is a pig of a road when wet. Sun is straight in your face all the way and when roads wet, you can't see a thing as you get it off the road and the sky, even with a dark "road legal" visor

Cheers, all the best
