Coronavirus - Do you think our summer plans are in danger?

Well i am a bit worried tbh. Still not very much but started thinking if this virus will put my Europe touring planned for the summer in danger. I guess noone can take a safe guess if it will escalate to the point that borders will be closed but sure hope so not especially after planning for it for some months now and buying all sort of equipment for a 2 month camping trip

I can't see that individuals will be stopped from going abroad this summer as long as they are not attending a mass gathering of some sort. The world's economy would suffer too much I would think.
We may have to have a coronaviris check first though.

Well Austria have stopped Italians crossing their border so anything is possible.

In Switzerland there's still nothing closed and no plan to do so, I think would it become really bad, people would be afraid and not go travel so much, I don't see any need to close borders.

As an adventure traveler, on the road and not within lots of public, you shouldn't be seen as person at risk.

Italy aside, it hasn't really hit most of Europe yet.
The next 3 or 4 weeks will be telling, you'll have a better idea then

As I speak both german and french, understand italian a bit too, I have seen numbers all around Europe and honestly the rest of Europe is nothing like Italy, also having been a tech guy in Italy as much as all European countries years ago, let me tell you the health system in Itally is not so great, especially the more south you go, which explains the issues there.

In my country there's something like 630 infected (0.00007% of population), 3 died all around 75Yo till now, our health system is reputably one of the best in the world, so you can see the difference.
In theory my country should be even more at risk, because on all borders, people come to work from France, Italy, Germany, Austria, and though the part close to Italy has the most cases (160), it's not so bad there.

Be careful if you travel but it should be fine, no need to go in psychosis like some people, it's still not worse in casualties than the flu, with a good health system !

The only issue is I don't think it will be solved in several months, until a vaccine is on the market announced for mid 2021, so will see how our globalized world fares.
