Coolant change
« on: May 04, 2020, 11:12:00 AM »
HI
Just done a coolant change but I cant see any showing in the expansion reservoir. Its got almost two litres in and Ive brought it to temp and tipped the bike (2016 so no bleed valve) rad is full to the brim. Thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

Yes I noticed that, although Muddy Sump vid says about two bottles (two litres)

Sounds like you need to add more.

Can you not add it into the reservoir?

How to add more fluid? Let the bike cool, stand it upright (main stand if you have one) and tip fluid into the coolant overflow tank on the right side of the fairing until it is above the minimum mark. I use a long funnel and only tip a little in at a time to stop spillages.

From memory the 15-19 models had a radiator that was about 15% larger than the 2010-2014 models. That was one of the big improvements in the 15 model when it was released along with better air flow to keep hot air more away from the rider.
