Pannier rails modification
« on: May 07, 2020, 07:29:20 AM »
Has anyone tried fitting a non triumph pannier to the triumph rails. I m wondering if the upper and lower plastic fitments  on the triumph rails are removable thus making the rails a bare loop on to which I could fit a Touratech pannier.  If so what is the diameter of the tube as I need an 18mm tube to accept the zega pro boxes. Also what are the measurements of the loop. Im looking for 350 mm x 245mm external on the frame. Thanks

Hi, here is a guide, but the width and height are approximate as the bike isn't very accessible for getting camera in-line with tape measure and bike is on centre stand and chained down.

Tubing - 18mm
Width - about 345mm/350mm
Depth - about 230mm

Stevie p many thanks. Width and tube size would be ok but depth is not suitable. Saved me splashing out on a pair on the off chance. Thanks

If you're not in a rush I could did out my big sash clamps in a day or two and try to get more accurate measurements.  :027:

Thanks for the offer mate but I think its too big a difference. I think Ill just try to find a fabricator who can play around and re weld my SS Touratech pannier rails. The basics are there and the hoop will be right. Thanks anyway
