Lockdown

Am I right in thinking that from Wednesday onwards English motorcyclists will be able to go for a ride?

No, only essential travel
feel free to define 'essential'  :002:

I've served my sentence, compromised my mental health and I'm going out this week.

We will know more this afternoon but I read it that we can travel from Weds onwards. I didn't hear anything about essential travel only.

As I understand the new guide lines.

From Wednesday you can drive into the country for a picnic. Or drive to a beach. Drive/ride is the same to me.

Only applies in England. Don't go crossing any borders.

I wont be riding anywhere for a while. I fear a second peak due to the vague and (IMO) reckless instructions from the Government.
Added to that, therell be loads of nutters on the road getting excited at being out.

According to MCN they have spoken to No 10 and we can ride as much as we like from Weds as long as we observe social distancing:

My bike will be staying put for a while - I would head out at the weekend but found a large split in the rear tyre a couple of weeks ago and can't find anyone local that I trust enough and who are open to fit me new tyres.
Bikes not 3 years old yet so not sure what has happened to split the tyre.

Just took mine off SORN and taxed it. I will be out on it later in the week. Got a new helmet, jacket and boots to road test too. This lockdown has cost me a fortune.

I share your pain. 64 years old, recently self employed, no materials available, no surveys permitted, not a penny from the government. But hell, I'm going to be riding this week!
