XCa Won't Start on a Closed Throttle
« on: May 13, 2020, 04:10:23 PM »
Anyone had this?
2016 XCa, just put it back together after a service and the only way to get it to start is with some throttle. Once running it's fine.
Sort of points to whatever they call the electronic version of the stepper motor but I can't see what's changed to cause the issue

any ideas?

Maybe the throttle position sensor?

A similar thing used to happen on the early Mk1s.

Very common mistake.  :138:...forget to connect the MAP tube onto the sensor near the front of the airbox. That would cause those symptoms. Worth a check but you'll have to raise the tank to see.

Thanks guys

It's now OK following a disassemble/reassemble of the rats nest of cables and pipes etc. under the tank.
Everything double checked and cleaned.

So I guess it was finger trouble somewhere  :034:
