Top box XRT
« on: May 18, 2020, 06:56:04 PM »
Hi
I am a newbie here so I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere.
I have recently become the proud owner of a 2016 XRT and I am after some info about which Top box will fit the monokey plate that is fitted. I bought a Givi box but it did not fit.
any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi
Not sure if you mean that you have the sliding plate already on the bike, if so then as far as I am aware it's only the Triumph top box that fits. It is made by Givi but as with the panniers they make the fittings slightly different to lead you towards buying Triumph accessories.

I stand to be corrected by someone with better knowledge!

Cheapest option will to fit a Givi plate , mine was about 125, you might need to be handy will a drill as well  for some reason I think I bought a special drill , but then used my Dremel to increase the bore

Is your fitted plate marked Triumph and look like this?

If so you can fit a Givi Outback topbox by simply relocating the lug on the plate (2 security Torx screws). There are posts in here on the subject if so.

Thanks guys
it looks like I have the sliding plate as per Stevie.P picture. I wasn't planning on fitting a large Top Box as the Givi 34L would be enough for me. Looks like I may have to try my hand at a bit of modification on the existing plate.
Thanks again guys

The Triumph/Givi aluminium topbox used is normally the 42L version with Givi also doing a bigger 58L version.
