Drained the coolant today. Not complicated but as the British say a bit fiddly. Tomorrow I will fill the cooling system.

let us know what coolant and the amount you use, ill be doing mine at some point. I noticed on mine the other day when I stripped it down there was a flat head screw on a coolant pipe next to the tank on the left hand side that looked like a bleed screw but ive never seen it mentioned on any of the guides.

A week ago I got my beloved tiger back, fully repaired and my accident was so violent that the radiator bent,
they had to change it even if it had no leaks, so first ride going away I got a overheating alarm
Apparently when you ride a bit you'll need to add some more coolant, so I advise you to take the collant with
you while riding after refill. They told me it's Something like 1.9l of collant needed in the whole system.

The amount of coolant required is going to depend on the age of the bike and which radiator it has. The 2011-2014 bikes have considerably less coolant than the 2015-2018 models.

Finished replacing the coolant today, Saturday. My 2017 XRX does not have the bleeder screw, my 2011 Roady did. I followed the procedure posted in the Haynes manual, straight forward. Ran the engine till the fan went on, the level in the expansion tank went down very little and stayed the same after cool-down. It took 1.8 liters. Haven't had the chance to ride her yet. I'll keep an eye on the level to see if there is any change.

Did mine recently and used Motul Coolant, just under 2ltrs for a 2012 Roadie, never bothered with bleed screw just filled, ran up quickly, gave all the pipes a squeeze and topped up again inc over flow tank and ran to temp, all fine since

Haynes says that the coolant capacity is 2.4 L, that's a big difference, more than half a liter. it makes me wonder why such a discrepancy?

Presumably some coolant was trapped in the engine and not able to be fully drained.

I wonder how necessary it is to change to coolant as regular as Triumph say. My 09 triple has still got the same coolant in from new and it still looks new, same with my 2010 car I have.
