Expedition panniers and 900s
« on: June 12, 2020, 10:08:24 AM »
Apologies if I've failed to find the existing answer. I have a '16 800 XRT and I'm now thinking of getting a 900. Would my existing Expedition panniers & topbox fit the new 900?

As the rear subframe is different, I would expect to be forced into buying the frames and, possibly the rack. Reusing would save me more than 1k - and I would never get that by including the luggage in a sale.

I think if your boxes are Triumph ones then yes they will fit, though you will need new frames and topbox mount.

I ordered the pannier rails and the boxes from my 2019 800 fitted fine. I had an Altrider rack so can't comment on top box

The Triumph Expedition Pannier Part numbers are:

Tiger 800 Panniers: A9500880
Tiger 900 Panniers: A9500880

Tiger 800 Rails: A9500726
Tiger 900 Rails: A9501286

The Panniers are the same but the rails are different - unfortunately.

As I suspected. Thanks for confirming this.

I wandered into a local Triumph dealership, said I was thinking about a 900 (pointing at one, just to help them), had a '16 800 with Expedition luggage "Would my luggage fit the 900?", Chief salesman "Dunno".

I confess I am wavering between an F850GSA & a 900 and this kind of salesmanship helps the decision.

i was told at my dealers that the old stuff wont fit the 2019, had a look at rally pro with luggage fitted, the frame fitting brackets are totally different, you could possibly take the catch plate from the old frame and fit on new frames.
