is it normal for a 2015 Tiger with 31k miles to burn a quart of oil in about 7 months 3200 miles after service?

No, 1 quart in 3200 miles is too much for normal riding. But the words 'after service' would beg the question, was it serviced properly with the correct amount.

Hi and
When mine is serviced I ensure the oil level is at the 'max' line. Then at approximately 3 - 4k miles I usually top up with 1/2litre as it has used some, such that when the 6k service & oil change is due again the oil level is usually around the mid point between 'low & max'.

I wish my Tiger only used a quart every 3200 miles. Right now I'm at a quart of oil every 1,000 miles. Think it is either the rings or the valve guides. Not looking forward to that ding in the wallet.

My bike used around 300ml of oil every 4000 km. Last couple of years i use the Motul 5100 semisynthetic 10w - 50. It now uses nearly nothing.
Having said that i was doing oil changes every 10000 km. Now i change oil every 5000 km. Reason being i find that gear changes are not that buttery smooth after 5000 km. It doesnt cost that much anyway.

I've always used the motul every 6k miles and never had to top up in between.
I thought that was the normal state of events.

up to 60,000 kms my bike did not take any oil between oil changes (every 10,000 kms), right now it's about a 0.5 to .75 l/per 5,000 kms, not too bad for 83,000 kms on the clock...

Worrying. Only heard of one other using oil similar at 1L/1k miles, that was a new bike, dealer stripped top end & fitted new rings under warranty, they said the rings had not been spaced correctly, still same, they wouldn't take it back so it was chopped in for a Yam. It'll be out there for somebody else.
