Rejoining the Tiger clan
« on: July 06, 2020, 05:33:05 PM »
Have been away for a couple of years, went to the dark side last year buying a BMW R1200 LC after 17 years of having Tigers.

The GS is a fantastic bike, and mine had every option possible, so it was a difficult choice to come back to Triumph, but after riding a 900 demonstrator it made up my mind.

The only things I didn't like about the GS was the weight when pushing it in/out the garage, the noise of the engine, and the complexity of all those electrics and potential costs (out of warranty, and the extended warranty costs 400+ per annum, and only covers items specifically named in the warranty documentation).

I had a Tiger 800 XC for four years and loved it, and am looking forward to the 900 because of the "gruffer" engine, excellent quick shifter, and interesting connectivity with the TFT screen.

Good to see you back Alan. Maybe we'll catch-up on a rideout somewhere?  :031:

:401: back, like yourself just returned to the 800 forum after 3 years at the 1200 forum. Just bought a 900 GT PRO in black, a lot lighter than the xrt 1200.  :031:

Snap , that was the biggest difference I noticed after going from GS to Tiger , Also neater in size , Im always solo so dont need to worry about pillion room.
