this is my first post
I'm hopefully someone here can help confirm or give verify the procedure the USA contact at Tritun.net and local dealer are unhelpful.  Tritun tech support told me to call the dealer.  Dealer claims individuals can not get access to offical service manuals and it must be serviced by an authorized triumph mechanic and therefore would not give me any help.   I think triumph left this section out on accident but the tritun.net people won't even look into they just blew me off.

I downloaded the 800xca manual a year ago when i bought the bike at 500 miles the head bearings were tight.  Now at 4000 they have loosened up.  I was going to torque them up have he castle nut socket on order but the 800 manual does not have a section in the front suspension titled "Headstock Bearing Check/Adjustment"  so i went and resucribed for an hour on tritun.net and still could not find it i finally looked in the 1200 manual and found this sequence.  Can anyone confirm that this is the same sequence for the 800

Ensure that the threads are free from grease.
Remove the lock nut and tab washer.
Loosen the adjuster nut then tighten to 40 Nm. Loosen the adjuster nut, then re-tighten to 10 Nm. Fit the tab washer and lock nut.
I would gladly appreciate any help
Thanks
Dave

Haynes manual agrees. 40Nm, loosen, then torque to 10Nm.

I noticed a play when i hold axle and rock it back & forth. Even after tightening it per the video or the haynes manual, there is still same amount of play.
Could it be the fork stanchions ?

I'm also looking for head stock bearings( babe is 2019 ) to readjust them, reading the Haynes manual as said above they say 40 and then final 10, Mr sump says 15 (as also described in video), emailed him and got the reply that this 15 is from Triumphs manual, can anyone give specific factory torques for 2018-
haven't done them yet but I'm thinking going with final 10Nm, as for regreasing i' ll go with grease type NLG EP2 which is recommended from Honda manual for head stock bearings, used it and liked it.

My factory manual also says 40Nm then 10Nm. That's what I would go with.
Laterally unstable unless moving.

The early Tiger 800s were 15Nm, not sure what changed for the reduction or when it was or even whether it was a retrospective change

Is there any value in fitting the tapered kits?
