Official Triumph rear extenders on Ebay
« on: August 06, 2020, 10:49:53 PM »
I saw this mentioned in the stainless steel engine bars thread and noticed that there were a small number on Ebay.

As noted by other posters years ago, there are no instructions available for them on triumphinstructions.com so I'll just have to work it out myself.

Had one on my first Tiger (fitted as standard here in Australia). Don't have one on the current bike (regulations changed no longer a requirement).
I have noticed no difference in the amount of dirt that gets on the rear of the bike.

If they are genuine Triumph parts they will probably have fitting instructions supplied with them. Every other genuine Triumph part I have purchased has.

If I remember correctly, someone put up their own instructions on the forum. With pictures.

In UK & Ireland no instructions supplied as "meant" to be fitted by a "trained technician". All instructions I ever had were downloaded from the triumph instructions website - except the rear fender extender - that was never there. It's an easy job if you just look at the new part and offer it up to the Tiger you'll see what has to come off.

Alternatively you can make your own like I did. I cant claim the idea because I copied it from a posting on the Triumph Explorer forum a few years ago. The originator made his from a plastic seed tray but I used a plastic emulsion tray. It may not look as good as the Triumph version but it does the job well and keeps the spray from the back of my top box. It was also very cheap, I think the tray cost me 1.50.
