New Owner First Triumph Questions - Tiger 800 XcX 2019
« on: October 19, 2020, 09:02:27 PM »
Good Evening

I'm new here.. New to Triumphs as well -
Just picked up a nice 800 XCX - couple of questions -

1) wing mirror vibration at motorway speeds + - is this normal ?

2) purchased top box and slider plate to mount - is this difficult - i'm not massively practical but can use a drill and a bit of brute force ??

3) Centre Stand - again - easy to fit ??

4) huggers seem to involve taking end can off - anyone have any that don't ??

5) how to I use Main beam - ( sorry )

thanks for your help on these - total newbie questions - but i've moved from a Honda ?

1. In my experience, Tiger mirrors dont vibrate. Ive had them fitted to a Scrambler and a Street Triple as well and have never had an issue. However, Triumph did change them for 18/19 model And reverted back to the old style for the 900. They did this due to vibration problems with the new ones and also weakness in the stems.
2. Relatively easy to fit. Get hold off the part number for the sliding carriage and enter it in here:
triumphinstructions.com.
3. Same with the centre stand.
4. I cant recall taking of the muffler to fit a hugger and cant see why that would even be necessary. You are talking about a rear wheel hugger?
5. The switch is on the front side of the left switch block. Its a pull/pull. Pull fir high beam. Pull again for low beam.

Welcome aboard. Once you work things out youre going to wonder why everyone doesnt have a Tiger.

:401: and congratulations on getting one of thr best bikes on the road today, wing mirrors get a bit of vibe at high speed when bike is on original tyres, top box and sliding plate is relatively easy to fit, search it on here. center stand too is relatively easy to fit, there are loads of vids for this out there, fitted a hugger to my mates didn't remove can, feel around for the high beam its there, just where you want it. The one I have is a Pyramid but not yet fitted , my mate gave it me, its off of his 2018 XRT. It was a doddle to fit on his bike.
