Swing arm oil seal installation position
« on: November 16, 2020, 02:37:06 PM »
Hi All

Just taken the swing arm of my 2012 Xc, which was not as scary is it looked, for general greasing and maintenance.

I discovered the oil seals for the main pivot bearings were badly installed, this may have been a replacement arm, and  none of them were straight, and all at different depths.
Very surprised!.

Question What is the correct installation depth of the seals? are they up against the bearing or a specific amount away, but still within the ground area of the inserts.

Hope that makes sense.
