Rubber to metal glue, on tank/legholder rubber
« on: November 17, 2020, 12:39:08 AM »
Hi,

I think the picture and subject will speak for itself but if not, I would like to glue back the rubbery part on the tank, I read in a few lines on google, but figured I ask around here. What kind of epoxy or glue should I use, dont want to destroy the tank with it, in that form, that it would be impossible to remove it or anything, or would this last its age, or replace but that seem unreasoned!?
Thanks!

Use contact cement which is probably what was used originally.

From an automotive supply store -- 3M weatherstrip cement.
(but, read the label to make sure no unwanted side-effects)

Pulled them off years ago. That's a double sided tape by the way. Nothing fancy.

Sellotape "Outdoor Sticky Fixers" are suitably thin and double sided. Used them on my Car Number Plate years ago and it's still in place !  :031:
