I have Scottoiler on mine and previous bike's,ride all year and just use the blue oil,I just turn it up a notch in the winter or if really wet ( it's England ) mine is mounted on lower cooling hose so gets to warm the oil.

Using a Cobra on mine, gear oil works fine but I add a little ACF50 anti corrosion fluid when they start salting the roads, seems to keep the corrosion on my un-plated chain at bay during the winter months.

Normal motor oil is good and cheap choice. Don't use automatic gear oil (ATF), sealants may not be resistant to its additives.
