After over 8 Years from new my Original 2012 Tiger 800  YUASA YTX16-BS  , is now struggling to start the engine first time - with the onset of these cold mornings.

Looking on here  Halfords are the cheapest place for the genuine replacement - £72

The Tiger  original Yuasa battery is a bit of a beast - weighs 5.6 kg - Although the Original Tiger 800's electrics were designed to run additional heated kit & devices etc.

So non standard may be a little lighter ? mottobatt ? or dry cell type

You get exactly what you pay for with a Yuasa - so here's to another 8 years of trouble free starting

Any positive views on the MotoBatt?
From what I've read (not on the T800 I might add), some love 'em, some avoid like the plague.

I know you can't go wrong with oem.

I've got Motobatts fitted to my 2006 T100 and also to my 1981 Honda CB900. I've not had any problems with them and have found that they hold a charge remarkably well while the bikes are laid up. Having said that there is no current draw from either bike neither have clocks, immobilisers or alarms.

I would still advise put a battery charger on asap and charge it right up as you can never trust the 'supplied ready to go' as you don't know how long it has been sat on the shelf. I've always charged all new batteries before fitting after I once had a new 5yr guaranteed Bosch battery fail to start my car after a few days use. Gave it a full charge and never had an issue again ... hence why I always give them a top up until charger shows 100% full.

Yep charged before fitting - & activation sticker was on battery  , January 2020
Trickle charge over winter now - as no current drain from anything  , but battery's don't like the cold
