Recommend me a Chain

Just looked at the OEM drive chain on my 2020 XRT with less than 5k on it and its rusting( surface rust).Ive cleaned it in paraffin and applied Wurth chain lube regularly but it really looks sh*t
I know theres a long going threads about oilers but i just feel i need a new chain but not keen on the sprocket kit as i dont think it warrants it
So which is the reasonable one to go for?

For me I'll only fit the DID top of the range X ring chain. Fitted as 1st replacement, done nearly 10k miles and barely any adjustment needed so far.

I'm quite impressed with the OEM CK fitted to my 1290 KTM - 21K miles and it's not even close to it's wear limit

I agree with Stevie, DID are my first choice, particularly the Gold version.

However, I would be reluctant to bin a chain after only 5,000 miles.
Why not try a good scrub with paraffin and a stiff scrubbing brush, then liberally apply 3-in-1 with a tooth brush and wipe off the excess with kitchen roll ?

I have had success with scotchbrite pads and chain oil to get surface rust off the side plates. Clean and lube at the same time.

Cheers for that ,Looking at you pic i cant see how many links i need to get (Just for the chain alone,Im not bothering with the sprockets just yet)

Might look shite but are there any tight spots / links. If not I would suggest the chain itself is still good.

I did mention the number of links in that 1st post on my link -124 -, regarding how far back the adjusters sit on the later Tigers (as earlier Tigers had 122 links).
I wouldn't expect any change from my 2015 Gen 2 XRt to your 2020 Gen 3 XRt but the bottom line would be to check your owners handbook specs. at the back of the book.

I agree.  It would be interesting to measure the "stretch",.... 20 links should measure less than 319mm.
