Is a 20mm lowering link set available?
«

I have owned both a Triumph Trophy SE 2013 and a Triumph Explorer (1200) XC before and lowered both 20mm using Lust lowering links.
I currently own a Triumph 2016 Tiger 800 XRT and would like to lower it 20mm, however, Lust only makes a 30mm and a 40mm lowering link kit. I bought the 30mm kit and it is sitting on my desk. I am concerned that it will lower the bike more than necessary.
I experienced a problem with the Explorer when I lowered it 40mm. The bike road fine but my toe would hit the ground in tight turns. I do not want the same problem with the Tiger.
Any thoughts or advice? Is a 20mm kit available from anyone else? I am not a fan of adjustable links.
Thanks for any advice or recommendations.

Hi there, yes 20mm lowering links are available. I have a tiger 800 and have lowered it with a set of these links.
I bought mine from ebay here in the uk and they were a great deal less than Lust links and seem to be of very similar quality. I have no idea of the maker though!

It's not a big job to swap linkages. Why not try the 30mm out and see if it is too much before buying another one?

Yes, theres a company called Free Spirit Parts - seemingly Italy based, but won’t sell privately - only allowing me to submit a request to my local dealer, who I don’t rate much at the best of times...

They also do a 10mm which I’m considering - they don’t mention benefitting from the shorter XR sidestand on the 10mm, but they do for the 20mm.

Ragtop,
Thanks for the information. They apparently have a dealer here in Chicago. I will give them a call.

To keep the geometry right i believe you drop the front 1/3 of what you do the rear.

I prefer 2/3's. Works for me.

Thats good. If you have an xc the last thing you need is slower steering.

Dunno about XC's. The OP has an XR same as me.
