Can I use XCA forks on my XCX?
« on: January 27, 2021, 09:29:18 PM »
I'm replacing a bent fork on my '18 XCX and came across a used set of forks from a '16 XCA with the electric dampening adjustment. I don't know what that does exactly. So my question is... can I bolt them on and simply not use the electric adjustment? I thinking another option would be to swap out the internals (as long as they are not damaged) or remove the electric bits?

Your thoughts?

Thank you,
Steve

Sounds like youve found forks from an Explorer. Check the outside diameter to see if theyll fit in the yokes - Im assuming your XCX is an 800. However, you will not be able to use your 800 wheel or brakes.

Good point.  I looked into it further, and the seller has the speed sensor wire still attached to the left fork leg.  He mistakenly thought it was some kind of electronic adjuster.

So I appreciate you questioning it.  That helped me learn a little more about it.

Thanks again!
