Hello from San Diego, California
« on: February 09, 2021, 02:09:04 AM »
Hi to everyone!

I just got a new to me 2012 Tiger 800 roadie

It's my first Tiger, but not my first Triumph, I also have a 2018 Street Triple 765 RS.

I think this is a great combo of bikes and has me covered for all types of riding (usually year round) I have here in SD county.

I traded in a light Honda enduro to get this Tiger 800 and couldn't be happier.  I have been trying to travel more and camp off the bike and the Honda was too light and squirrely on the Highways.

So far I've added Givi engine guards and top case, a Puig screen. Probably getting handguards, charging ports and heated grips soon.  I think I'll try to install a fused distribution block to keep everything clean.

Looking forward to getting all the tips and tricks and project help from this great forum!

Hi and :401:

SD ... my favourite city in CA. Balboa Park on a sunny weekend when all the different cultural bits are open and events and food stalls in the open. :028:
(Also the most expensive gas I've ever seen in the US on Coronado, :005: luckily I didn't need any)

For a fused distribution block the tail light is a popular source for an ignition feed.

Also owned my 1979 Bonnie T140E from new!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! The venom yellow has really grown on me haha it wasn't my first choice but it has only 13k on it and looked very clean vs similar priced Tigers that had 26k or more. I've already gotten loads more compliments on this Tiger than my Streety!

Stevie P- That's really cool you've been here,  SD is great and I can't wait for Balboa park to return to normal. They're trying to have a little bit of the old events to happen so hopefully it will be soon. Thanks for the info on the distribution block wiring, I'm going to use that!

My girlfriends family lives in Norfolk,  UK, are there any members in that area? I just spent the holidays out there and might come out again in summer if possible. I would love to do a bit of riding out there as well.

Hey, how ya doing?
Welcome to the club; there are quite a few Tiger-ists here in Norfolk, just let us know when youre coming over and Im sure we can arrange a meet up somewhere.
Stay safe and keep the shiny-side up.
Cheers
