ABS Sensor rubbing ABS ring

I took the swing arm off my Tiger 800 xc to grease the bearings and change the rubbing strip, all went well got everything back together ok until i spun the rear wheel and I could hear a squealing noise, it look like the tip of the ABS sensor is rubbing on the abs ring. It wasnt doing it before.

I havn't time now to look at it further this weekend, so its a job for next weekend, appreciate any thoughts, wheel is spinning ok I did take the rubber cushes out to check there condition, I have removed the sensor to remove the swing arm, but not much else.  As usual appreciate an help.  Really enjoying doing jobs myself aside from saving a bit of money, but not when I have problems lol

Check the position of washer # 21, it acts as a spacer.

  Most likely on your garage floor ... or wherever you unscrewed the sensor. You can use a suitable sized ordinary thin washer if you don't find it, you need a gap of 0.1 - 0.5mm.

Thankyou as ever, just been in the garage and found a rusty washer, lying on the floor near to where the  Tiger was when I was working on it even though I had a white sheet down. I'll put it in and measure the gap for extra piece of mind.

Yep - hands up I made the same mistake after a service - natural to assume the washer goes under the screw head but not this one!

If you do manage to lose your spacer or find that you have to re-shim it's possible to buy stainless replacements here: https://www.accu.co.uk/en/704-shim-washers#elasticsearch_id_feature_996434=996434_758&id_elasticsearch_category=704&orderby=ranking&orderway=asc

You can buy thicknesses between 0.1mm and 1mm.

They also have a plethora of nuts and bolts for every moto project :-)
