« on: March 03, 2021, 06:46:52 PM »
I'm considering lo lowering my bike by about an inch (shorty inseam) if I do this will I have to shorten the sidestand?

BTW, what is the length of the standard dog bones?

TIA, Dave

Hi Dave and welcome,

I too have a 'shorty inseam' and have lowered my Tiger. I am not sure of the length of the standard dog bones but it is best to shorten the side stand. There is a modification where you can insert a washer between the side stand and the frame and this alters the angle of the side stand, making the bike more stable. The other alternative is to fit the side stand from a Factory Low ride  bike.

Also when lowering the rear it is a good idea to push the forks up through the yokes to maintain a level ride height.

Dog bones which lower the bike by 20mm are readily available on ebay and other sites

Hi Dave
As mentioned above, Ive done the mod with the washer; works a treat.
There are some images on here somewhere that show how its done; do a search for sidestand and you should find them.
Cheers
Geoff
