Right hand rad cowl removal Tiger 800 2018
« on: April 04, 2021, 01:04:10 PM »
I'm looking to repair or replace the Right hand rad cowl on the Tiger 800 as it's cracked (the panel with the XRT logo and indicator hole). I have Heed crash bars installed, am i going to be able to remove the panel without removing the bars and what is the correct way to remove them?.

I've seen some videos of panel removal but they are for pre 2018 models that i think are slightly different, i have a 2018 XRT, thanks.

I'm sure panel removal will be similar to my 2017 model. Most of it was straightforward if at little tedious and the only tricky bit I remember were the screws in the middle of the inner panels either side of the radiator. On mine, the screws expanded the plastic inserts to grip the internal metal mounting brackets but one of them didn't want to release.

I think I was referring to the radiator infill panels which have to be removed before the side panels can be removed.
