R&G Aero bobbins for Tiger 900
« on: April 15, 2021, 12:53:55 PM »

Tiger 900 owners.

Has anyone fitted the R&G aero style protectors (https://www.rg-racing.com/browsetype/Crash_Protectors/Triumph/Tiger_900_Rally/CP0492BL/#) for fairings/tank etc and could they give us an assessment on their effectiveness of protection at zero speed drops.

Regards.
Tony.

Hello - I realise this is a fairly old post but I just spotted it and thought I'd reply anyway !.. I have the R&G Aero bobbins fitted to my 800 XC (which isn't a million miles away from your T900) and I've found them to by very good in low speed drops / static lay downs. I don't want to tempt fate but I've not had an 'off' at speed so I can't comment from experience but they are a good sturdy set-up so I'd expect the result to be the same at speed..

Just a question, but what's the right R&G link for a 2020 800xrt, I'm not 100% clear from the R&G site... and is it worth having these bobbins with the lower engine bars fitted?

They don't do Crash Protectors for the Tiger 800 range.

They have fork protectors or rear spindle sliders, but no engine mounted crash protectors

Apologies - you are right.

I searched all R&G Tiger 800 parts on their site and it didn't show the CP0346 crash bungs.
Time for a lie down I think.....
