I have now stowed away spare tubes for both tyres and a mini electric pump under the rear seat and rear cover together with all the tools needed to fix a puncture in the toolbox. Hopefully, I never get a puncture but I am at least prepared for one rather than having to rely on the AA to get me home :002:

Hey AWJ and others......... has anyone fitted this S250 to the Triumph OEM bag mounts which I believe are basically Givi's?  I too have an XCX, a 2019.  Any idea how I might sort out what mounting kit those racks would take?  I like the idea of utilizing that narrow space behind the side bag frame and the moto and on paper, the S250 looks like a good solution, it i can sort out the mounting..........

    Thanks!

I'm struggling to find the OEM bag mounts that you are referring to - any chance that you can provide a link to them?

Good video - that's the one I followed which shows the slightly different way required of mounting the tool box compared with the Givi instructions; that is, to attach the support brackets to the top tube on the pannier frame rather than the side tubes :001:

Yes the Triumph (aluminium/Expedition) luggage is made by Givi but slightly altered in design for Triumph and in the case of the tool box the rear cross support on the Triumph frame crosses right across the middle of the rear of the box unlike the Givi frame which I think has the cross support sitting below the tool box. I also think I recall that there was an earlier version of the tool box (maybe not Givi  :027: ) that had the door hinged to the box, not removeable, which was the major issue due to the cross support.

There was an earlier Youtube solution to the one already given that does require some chopping and modding as they have stuck with horizontally mounting the fitting kit so I definitely prefer the method in the previous Youtube clip. :028:

    Hi AWJ........

The mounting brackets for the OEM AL panniers are this or this........  Not sure the differences.

These pannier frames look to be identical to the ones fitted to my 2017 XCA. In terms of using the Givi tool box fitting kit (mentioned previously) that I used, the only critical measurements are the distance between the lower and upper frame tubes and distance between the bobbins on the lower tubes. I'll measure mine shortly but I am sure they will be the same on yours

Frame tube centres are 8.5" (215 mm) apart and bobbins are 8 7/8" (225 mm) apart.

The difference in frames is that the 'Gen 1' Tiger, up to VIN 716662 I think used the expanding insert in the frame by the rear pillion footrest and the 'Gen 2 onwards' didn't they have a threaded insert already in the frame and uses a M8 x 20 mm bolt.

For some general guidance regarding accessories, except really simply 'no instructions needed' ones which will return no result, look at the part number starting with A******* on the parts list and put it into ....

    www.triumphinstructions.com

... and you will get the instructions which list the applicable bikes etc. and can often clarify the differences where there are 2 similar kits with different numbers by comparing the instructions. So I expect you will find one of those kits has the expanders and the other doesn't.:028:

RydeTiggerBlue: I hadn't properly registered that your bike is a 2019 XCX which is normally fitted with pannier mounting kit A9500726 rather than the earlier A9500626 fitted to my 2017 XCA. The links you provided seem to correspond to the latter kit although I believe both sets of pannier frames use the same mounting points on the bike and mount the same boxes. The main difference as far as I can see is the later pannier frames mount the boxes 1-2 inches higher off the ground.
