MPG wasn't an important consideration when I bought my 800 XCA last year but I now definitely appreciate its range on a full tank of petrol especially as the other bike I ride has a range of only 150 km on a good day!

I never got anywhere near that on my 800, 39/42 pretty much the average, must just be the way i ride, mind. me 16 Stone, 46litre Trekker box with big chain and padlocks and pannier rails.... i do carry a lot of extra weight...  :031:

Did you have the older model Tiger 800, the newer ones are supposed to be better on fuel.

Heya

Yes, maybe i should have been clearer, i had a 2011 T800. Instant regret getting a crossrunner after i sold her.... I did think about the later generation XRX but after my mum died and i got a bit of money from her so i decided to go for the 900.

Fair enough, the 900 is a great bike. Love the look of the rally pro myself but a new bike is a long way off yet.

Getting an average of 50-54 MPG (US) on 90 octane Ethanol free gasoline on a 2021 T900 GT.  Was around 45-50 MPG (US) but after my first service at ~850 miles, the mileage improved 10%, no idea why.  Now have ~2400 miles on the bike.  I have noticed Triumph does now leave a little cushion of safety on both the "miles to empty" countdown and the TFT display bar gauge as when the countdown gets under 10 miles to go, I still only can put in about 4  to 4 gallon (US) into the tank.  That's unlike my 1050 Tiger SE. It didn't have a miles to empty countdown but when the gauge went to zero...you were walking.  But don't ask me how I know about this.  :164:
