900 heated grips temperatures
« on: May 14, 2021, 04:42:36 AM »
After a ride along the Wairau Valley yesterday at 4 degrees and having the heated grips on I didn't think they got as hot as the one's that were on my Explorer so having a temperature probe I thought I would take some temperatures. I should add that I have Grip Puppy's fitted but they don't seem to make any difference to the temperatures as it was the same on top of them as under them.

Setting    Left    Right
Off           21.1    20.9
Low           28.3   29.2
Medium    35.1   36.6
High           45.3   42.1

So in my garage they seemed pretty warm but didn't feel that way whilst riding has anyone checked the temperatures on there's or am I the only one?  :017:

The 800 and 1200 in my opinion are better than the 900, Have not taken any temperature readings so can't tell you if they are actually lower rated hand grips. I guess if the ambient temp is colder then they might not feel as warm.
No matter how bad your day is your BIKE will always make you feel better.

You have a choice. Either integrated and not great heat or 3rd party and not integrated but works really well - Oxford & others.

The heated grips on my 2012 were rubbish. I also always use grip puppies. The factory grips on my S10 were not great either. Replaced with Oxford Adventure Grips, absolutely top drawer and a bargain to boot.
