I mostly cured it.... Retorqued the engine bolts and found that the gear shift was loose (bolt was tight but it wasn't clamping the splined spindle). The gear lever must have been vibrating like mad.... Bike seems great now and just a little rumble that reminds you the torque of the engine is coming in hard. recently had the 40k service done on the bike and the dealer included a checksheet with all the torque settings checked as part of the service

I tend to anyway do the walk-around with wrenches in hand checking the tightness/torques of all/easily-accessible nuts and bolts on a regular basis anyway seeing that I ride a lot of dirt roads
When you talk, you only repeat what you already know - when you listen, you learn something new
