Map for Harris Pipes exhaust - engine lag
« on: July 06, 2021, 06:10:29 AM »
Hello, OK, this is my first Triumph.  My new to me 1999 Triumph Tiger 855i (40,000 miles) had a stock pipe on it but was mapped (9893map.hex) for after market silencer.  So, as part of the parts that were included with the bike was a nice Harris Pipes exhaust.  I put that on and sure like how it sounds.  But, it has a lag on 2nd and 3rd if I hop on it a bit.  It kind of hesitates and then catches.  I put back the original pipe and reprogramed for the correct map (9891map.hex).  Is there a way that I could get a map for the Harris pipe or should I be able to look at the table and custom adjust.  That is getting beyond my experience since I am new to Triumph.  Maybe that lag is normal for a bike with 40,000 miles.  Engine sounds good, oil stays clean and doesn't burn.  And it feels really strong for her age.  Am in rural Alaska so about 4 hours away from a dealer, even if they wanted to touch this.  Thanks in advance for anything you folks might have.

Even better, try https://www.triumphrat.net/ where there's a specific forum for the 885i/955i Tigers (aka "girlies").
