Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 - comfort seat
« on: July 14, 2021, 08:23:50 PM »
I find the standard seat uncomfortable after an hour. Can anyone recommend a comfort seat?

Thank you

Not currently for me, I did 11 hours on mine a couple weeks ago in 36C without to much issue so I haven't felt a real need to look for alternatives.

Sargent has a seat, I don't have one on my Tiger, but I have a Sargent on my DR650, huge improvement. You can buy the rider seat only if you want to save some $ and don't carry a passenger.

I have a Sargent seat on my '21 T900 GT and IMHO it's a HUGE improvement over the stock seat.
Just sayin'... :730:

Replaced my seat with a Sargent seat. It has the plug and play heated seats for both the front and rear passenger.  Talking to Sargent on the phone they said they only do both seats because they have had issues with the front not integrating well with the Triumph rear seat on previous models. They also told me that the OEMs use open foam padding so that does sag after a short time. They have always used closed foam so the air can't escape so always has a springiness left even though the padding in my opinion is relatively thin anyway. Its also better shaped with the wider set up but also the pads are better shaped. e.g. it has a narrow slot in the middle to stop the foam pushing up in the middle when you sit on it.

I have taken a couple of rides and its definitely wider and much better shape than the standard. Its not soft but has much better support. For comparison I had an Airhawk on the original seat and it made it better but you were sitting on a bag of air so you don't feel fully connected to the bike as you squirm around.

I found that if I put the front of the seat on the higher of the two settings and the rear on the lower it felt better angled for me.

Is it worth $900+ will depend on how far you go and how uncomfortable you are on the standard. For me at 125 miles I was ready to stop for the day but the new one a short rest will have you ready for more riding.

in tune with online reviews I give;
4 out of 5 stars for comfort. That compares to a 4 stars for the first 10 mins on the original and 0.5 stars at 50 miles. Original with an Airhawk about a 3 star.
5 out of 5 stars for fit and finish.
5 out of 5 for Sargent communication and processing.

Hope that helps

Give that Sargent seat some time & miles as my first impression was suspect too.  However once broken in it fits me perfectly and is all day comfortable.   I too did play around with various height settings on the front & back bars at first, but arrived at just placing both in the low setting as best for my 30 inseam.

Concerning: they only do both seats because they have had issues with the front not integrating well with the Triumph rear seat on previous models.   I bought just the front Sargent seat and it fits perfectly with my OEM Triumph rear seat.

Yes they are pricey, but IMHO worth it.  Enjoy!  :169:

Thanks for the input, but does anyone have experience of the Triumph Comfort seat for the Tiger 900?

Bought my 900gt privately and it came with comfort seats. Not really noticed how good they are, probably because my other bike is an explorer.
