Lateral Flow Tests
« on: July 23, 2021, 12:38:23 PM »
Just out of curiosity, but also being proactive, just in case more restrictions are put in place because of the increase in the Delta variant.

Thanks

We do regular LFTs anyway so not a problem to me - voted 'Y' above.

i would take any test

but chances that I am allowed to come are getting lower day by day. Right now France and the Netherlands are High Risk areas which means quarantine for 10 days in the UK and my German full vaccination status does not seem to count as it wasn't the NHS who gave me the shots.....

Right now the figures here in Germany are still pretty low but are rising steadily every day if the devil has his way we'll be having another lockdown late autumn

Not a problem, we're asked to do one before visiting the office, or visiting any of our sites, can be ordered online, or pick a set up from Boots, or wherever.

LFT is for people who are asymptomatic to give a degree of confidence that they're Ok, PCR is for people who have symptoms, which kinda defeats the object, because even if you get a negative, but have symptoms, you should still be isolating.

LFT test is a sensible precaution. We usually take them before spending extended time with friends and family anyway.

I had to take a PCR test at a walk-in at Knutsford just before 1pm Tuesday this week, the results came back (negative) by 6am the next day and I only booked it 1 hr before taking the test, however test availability and results return are not always that quick, they advise up to 72 hours for the results to be returned and longer if you go postal.

You can pay privately for a rapid PCR if you're so inclined, but a lateral flow test at home takes 1/2hour.

Lateral Flow Tests are recommended if you are without symptoms, PCR if you have symptoms, but if you do have symptoms you shouldn't be going anywhere, anyway  :028:
