2018 Tiger 800 Service Re-set
« on: August 28, 2021, 02:19:18 PM »
With reference to pages 49 & 50 of my 2018 Tiger 800 manual it shows and describes that on selecting the Bike Set Up then Service option that in the Service mode that there is a Reset function that allows you to reset both the miles and the date?

However, The Reset function is missing?

I take it that this is the same for all but, if that is the case why is it clearly shown in the manual or is this something that you have to pay a dealer to enable?

It's something that seems to have gotten removed. I think it's only there until the first service is carried out by the dealer. You can use TigerTool, Dealertool or TuneECU to reset the service distance and/or date yourself.

Thanks for the reply.

I do have the Tiger Tool, though yet to have had to use it. However, The manual described Reset function for the Service would be so much simpler for many.

Might enquire from Triumph as to why a fully described function in the manual is not actually available?

I suspect this facility has been removed after complaints from dealers about owners getting bikes serviced outside the dealer network. Ive just had a 12000 mile service done by Muddysump on my 2019 XRT and I reset the service spanner myself using TigerTool v3.3.

Have you put an option to reset the date indicator in tigertool.

Hi
I have a tiger 800 XRT 2018, and yes in the manual it says you can reset the service date via the switches on the bike.
but this isn't the case when you thought the menu.

I have read that tiger tool you reset the date as well as the mileage, I was just reading a download PDF on how tiger tool works, etc. And it says to reset the date you have to do via the bike's menu?????

Clearly, Triumph has removed this option.
A post I've just read, says you can reset this with tiger tool, so as you can imagine I'm really getting confused.

if I can do this is anyone able to share with me the link where I'm able to download tiger tool and the best/correct OBD cable...

I had a service done on my bike but they were unable to reset the date.

please please can someone help.

Many Thank

If you downloaded the manual from the 'How-To' section of the forum for TigerTool V3.3, you will hopefully have read the first post in that thread, specifically this bit...
Note the instruction manual refers to V3.0 as a revised edition for V3.3 is not being released due to the minimal differences.

...then read page 10 of that TigerTool thread for an explanation of the new service reset features, i.e....

There's also plenty of talk about suitable OBD2 ELM327 adaptors in there. Try to find the BBFLY-BF32301 or BF32302 leads for the most trouble-free option.

As T800XC has said, you should read the latest information about TigerTool V3.3. However, I can assure you that TigerTool can be used to reset the next service date on post-2017 Tigers with TFT displays. I have a 2019 XRT and was able to easily reset both distance and time milestones to extinguish the service spanner on my bike using TigerTool v3.3.

Thank you for your help on this, just read the post on V3.3, and that is great news.

I've just ordered the cable from Amazon, BF32302 as suggested, just one other thing where can I find the link to download, V3.3 of Tiger tool?

Many Thank once again
