    TIGER MEGAMEET SEPTEMBER 2021

We have finally got to the final straight in order to get to a Megameet – it’s been a long time!!

A bit of info for you……..

    COVID-19
Alas, this virus is still with us and cases are on the rise, so we still need to be careful!

We do not know each other’s personal circumstances, so please, during the stay in Llandrindod Wells, can you respect each other’s wishes for social distancing/mask wearing etc.

In Wales it is still law to wear a face mask indoors when in a public area – this will include corridors in the hotel and when going inside at the morning, lunch and afternoon stops. Please make sure you bring masks with you.

Whilst in the hotel and scheduled stops, please adhere to their rules.

For added reassurance, a number of us will be taking Lateral Flow Tests before travelling. If you are willing to do so, please go ahead and take a test too.

IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF A COLD / FLU / COVID-19, PLEASE DO NOT TRAVEL.

    THE RIDE
We will be having a morning stop, lunch stop and afternoon stop. All venues offer indoor and outdoor seating. The total mileage will be approximately 200 miles.

We will be using ‘second-man drop off’ for the ride. If you are not sure how this works, please ask!

I will be leading the ride and Tom Hanson will be Tail End Charlie.

There will be A roads, B roads and roads with gravel and grass down the middle. There will be cattle grids galore! There will be lots of poop on the road – sheep poop is not too bad, but cow poop can be slippy, messy and smelly, so best avoided.

There will be loads of unpredictable sheep on the roads, some of whom have a suicidal death wish and you may come across a herd of Aberdeen Angus Cows who like a get together in the middle of the road!

The ride will start at 08:30 on the Saturday please, so best be ready by 08:15 in the car park in order to have a quick briefing before we set off. We will be in one group.

Please make sure you fuel up before the ride starts on the Saturday – there are a number of fuel stations within Llandrindod Wells –
    •   Texaco on the A483 just south of the hotel
    •   Tesco – just off Waterloo Road

There will be a planned fuel stop en route, for those who need it.

    EVENINGS
We have been allocated the Wedgewood room, as a group. We will have our evening meals here at 8pm on the Friday and Saturday evenings

There is a bar and the hotel boasts a Spa that you can use (some facilities to be paid for and some included in the costs).

    SUNDAY
As this year’s Megameet will be following the ‘Minimeet’ format, there will not be a planned second ride on the Sunday. That being said, I have pencilled in a route from Llandrindod Wells to the Coldra junction with the M4 (J24), for those who are planning to return home via the M4 bridge.

    FINAL WORD
Tom and I hope you enjoy this ride. We will guide you through some nice roads in mid-Wales, however you will be responsible for your own riding at all times. Tom, me and/or Tiger800/900 Forum will not be held responsible.

    THANKS
Many thanks to Tom, Annie, Bernard, Nigel and Martin for the support in the recces for this route. And a speedy recovery to Martin who is recovering from Covid-19 and will not be joining us.
    Nils Desperandum, Nils Carborundum

Stevie, this could be “The Return of the SRCP6”; one less than the Magnificent Seven, but one more than the Famous Five.
    Teehee…! Happy Days.

    Hya guys,

I wish you all the best for the Mega-Mini-whatever Meet. I have a score to settle with that bloody virus preventing me to come over somehow I miss driving on the wrong side of the road and drink lukewarm beer. Anyway, I am looking forward to next year and hope that things will improve.

Right now I am in southern Germany, had a road safety training yesterday and we are about to start to go over to France, Alsace and Vosges to put the things we have learned and trained into practice.

I'll raise my glass to you tomorrow night...
Life is too short to drink bad wine or to ride bad bikes.
