In my experience, I'm not sure whether it makes much difference which order the plates are put back together but, as said, it's important that the judder spring and seat are in good condition and put back together the right way round!

I joined the RAC a very long time ago and had to call them out immediately to ferry my old Triumph Tiger 100 home to London from the Lake district (250 miles) after the magneto fell apart. Kept with them for many decades but a couple of years ago I decided they were no longer fit for purpose and reluctantly switched to the AA.
