Add cruise control to ECU
« on: September 24, 2021, 10:53:14 PM »
Does anyone have information on adding a stock Tiger 900 electronic Cruise Control to an 850 Tiger?  I have TuneECU working and have reset the maintenance interval.  I was told you can add the handlebar unit and let the ECU know it's there and get it to work with TuneECU.  So far a search has not come up with how to do this on here or TuneECU.

Do Triumph offer cruise as an option? If they dont I suspect it will be very difficult if not  impossible for an owner to get it working.
Have you gone back to the source of the information about adding the handlebar switch assembly? Sure that source knows how to get things working if they are saying its possible.

The 900 comes with cruise the 850 does not but can support it from what someone said.

Then go back to the someone and ask for step by step instructions. If they say it will work ask them to show you how it works.

I have just checked the Triumph Australia web site which just mirrors the UK one with local pricing added and there is no cruise control option for the 850 Sport. That makes me think it would be unlikely that you could simply add a switch assembly and fiddle with the ECU firmware to get one working.

I would suspect the firmware is unique to the 850 so the option probably isn't just hidden, it probably does not exist.

"Someone" was very wrong. :151:
 No way.  :110:
You can buy a spare  switch cube with the controls but there is nothing in the 850 to support it.

If you really want proper cruise control there is only one  after market product  worth having and it comes from Australia here:

 https://www.mccruise.com/
(Not a product endorsement, buy I do have two on other bikes.)
You will need to install it yourself and it is somewhat costly.
