Hugger for a 2018/19 800 XRx
« on: October 07, 2021, 05:19:34 PM »
Anyone got a hugger lying around? Ive seen the general view that it doesnt do a wonderful job of keeping crap off the back of the bike, but Id give it try anyway.

If it helps I fitted this and it's pretty good for the price:

I paid 80 ish for it, I assume the current price is a typo.

Thats some description on the website! Clearly translated, badly,  from some other language. And what on Earth is anodized fibre plastic  :027:  I did find one for only 40.  It fits nicely around the tyre but doesnt include a chainguard.  Fitting it will move the chainguard about 3mm further away from the tyre.  Its not fitted yet; Ill post photos and a link.

Fitting was a nightmare. Took ages. And although the hugger itself looks ok the chainguard is now well out of line. The hugger is a knock-off of an R&G design. I dont know how or whether R&G avoid the chainguard issue but Id avoid this eBay cheapo.

Oh dear.

My one is made of fiberglass I think and is straight, so might be worth getting that.

I fitted a Puig one on my last 800 - didn't stop the side fling but definitely protected the rear shock which was my main concern as it's the hardest thing to clean and maintain in that area. Think they are about 105 on eBay.
