Thanks Stevie; didnt expect anything else.
I meant the Tiger, not me.., sometimes the green jobs and the light-blue jobs sing off different hymn sheets; it will get better, wont it?
Stay safe ol timer

Guzzis, Hondas, Yamahas....

I bought a Tiger 900 GT Pro this week. It was sitting in the show room and I could not resist.

Nice one Uli; so which one had to go to make room for the 9 GTP?

Geoff

Well the Tiger 800 got the coup de grace, the front fork was shot, bike hopped on the road like a rabbit and the mechanics said they could only cure it by amputation, in other words a new or used fork. Even a used fork is around 700 to 800 euros at fleebay, so it is that plus the work, I'd be ending up with 1,500 plus. Furthermore, with a used fork its the classic box of chocolates thing: you never know what you get.

As the Tiger 800 has done over 90,000 kms (that's about 50,000 miles in your currency) and apart from the gear shaft pin being sheared off, which happened to me twice, none of the other known issues of the Tiger 800 gen. 1 had occurred to me so far, it'll be kind of a gamble to flick out the money hoping that bike is doing another 10 K miles.

Fortunately enough, I could collect some corona pandemic dividends - wink, wink - the money was there so I bought the Tiger 900.

Final line: I absolutely loved the Tiger 800, it took me through half of Europe and never repeat never let me down on my travels. It started only recently with that front fork problem but the last trip I did with it in France a couple of weeks ago was still very nice. Place in my heart and all that, guess you know what I mean.

See you over here next year I  am about putting things together for the "Megameet 2022 now really in Germany".

So stay tuned...
