OK, OK, I know what youíre going to askÖ.., itís one of those big things thatís made in Germany and has been known to go the Long Way Round, but surely you wouldnít hold that against himÖ..!

Personally I can't see a problem. Some people may be a bit sniffy but this event has always been open and welcoming to all.i can't remember if we have ever had a solely 800 ride

I think someone got a bit prissy, IIRC the Scots ride) but was soon ignored. Having said that others may chose to differ. I guess ultimately its down to DerChef. It's his ride :037:

...itís one of those big things thatís made in Germany ...

As said, ultimately up to Uli, who unfortunately couldn't attend the recent Megameet in Wales, which for those that did will recall:
It was led by a 'German bike' (Dai)
Swept up by a 'German bike' (Tom)
Had a 'German bike' floating in between (Annie)
and even a 'New Japanese bike' in there (Rozzer)
..... and hopefully the thought never even entered anyone's mind about what was being ridden as negative, I know I didn't. :027:

:164: I wasn't at the Scottish Megameet but from what I've heard the ride of contention was probably that parrot yellow Citroen. :008: :492:
Also owned my 1979 Bonnie T140E from new!

It's colour is 'Citron Yellow, and it was there for a very good reason. It also kept up with all those 800's and was used as a rescue vehicle in the afternoon, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it !
As above it's Uli's decision, but there have always been different makes of bikes on these events, I've done them all, only one on an 800,and it's the people that make them not the machine.

From my point of view the more, the merrier, so long as the Teutonic tractor (sorry Uli) can keep up with us.  :017:

Well contrary to what some people say these days this is a free country with generally open minded people including me. If someone had decided to buy the wrong bike it's his prolem and not mine. So any bikers on any brand may take part in this as long as they behave themselves. We need to define good behaviour though....

I am still trying to find accomodation but due to this time of the year my clients all go crazy at the moment so I do not have much spare time to address this problem. I'll find something I am sure.
Life is too short to drink bad wine or to ride bad bikes.

Sound words Uli. An Englishman or woman (which is it Geoff?) riding a BMW and a German riding a Triumph - cooperation and mutual respect sadly lacking in some parts of the world.  :087:
