Think its all in there somewhere.
Be aware the pawl and gear were upgraded, and if your in there, its a cheap fix.

If you go to YouTube and put "tiger 800 gear selector return spring" into the search box you should get 3 clips by Elliot Dunn showing him completing the whole task. :028:

Hiya. Regarding this problem...... If the parts have been upgraded to prevent failure of the gear selector, does anyone have an info from what year / Vin number or model please? I've got an 2018 reg 800 XRT & it'd be nice to know if its likely to suffer from this! Cheers....

IMO the part hasn't been upgraded because my 2013 and 2018 have same part number :084:

Is it possible thats because the upgraded part can be fitted to both your 2013 and 2018 Tigers and the original part that was (or is) fitted to your 2013 is no longer available?

Post #25 in the previous link Londonglide provided shows the modified parts but as the post indicates these are 'gear selector' parts worth doing while in there if highish mileage, they are not the parts that are the common 'gear change' failure items, these AFAIK have not been improved, except by DIY reinforcement.

Yes, I on about the shaft , although Muddysump did tell me that the shaft was improved  :084:

I would still spot weld the pin, just to make sure

Note, the plate on the right is the updated version, and bag shows part No :152:
