Does anyone have any experience of Herald motorbikes
I'm thinking of getting something like the 400cc for a local run-around.
I've read a lot of articles about Chinese bikes and opinion seems to be divided. It will never replace the good old 800 but you can pick these up relatively cheaply and one's that are not that old come up second-hand quite often.
I like the Royal Enfield Interceptor but these are so new there's hardly any used ones and a new one is more than twice the price I can pick up a Herald for.
Thoughts / opinions

I can recommend the interceptor, you would not regret getting one.
If the 650 is a little out of your price range have a look at the meteor. Good solid little bike and great value.

I think it very much depends on how they are looked after. I’ve seen more than a few cheap bikes and scooters looking very shabby after a year or two. It wouldn’t stop me buying one but I’d buy on condition and look for a responsible owner- not a teenager with no garage, shed, money or mechanical knowledge.
Just doing as much as I can for as long as I can.

Why is this in the main board when it's not Tiger 800 related ??
Note:
Topics in the main board
must
have some relationship to the Tiger 800/900. If the subject relates to another bike or a general motorcyce issue then it goes in the "On Two Wheels" board.
