Starter motor options

kokkios:
Hi guys

Need your help. Three problems occurred in a matter of days. Bike is a 2016 XRT
First the horn stopped working. Then the bike wouldn't start and when the mechanic came to pick the bike up i noticed oil on the tiles.... fork seal on one fork is broken.

Mechanic says my started motor is gone. All problems together i am looking at a very big repair sum.

I looked at fowlersparts and the starter motor is 400 euros.
Is there a cheaper option?

Any help is much appreciated

Iíve never used them myself but Iíve heard good reports of Rickís Starter Motors which are very reasonably priced. They are based in the USA and you can find details here :

Have a read , you might be able to cross reference other triumph models this would widen eBay options.

+1 on the starter from Rick's. Fair price and prompt delivery. The electrical engineering is a little different but the fit is no fuss. Of course removing all of the parts to get to the starter is a pain in the a$$. I couldn't see paying the Triumph price for a starter that has already proven that it is not durable. It was my experience that Rick's was very customer oriented.

I will have a look at Ricks starters but the thing that says it need some modification to fit makes me a bit apprehensive

Do you think this will fit my 2016 XRT?
