    This discussion seems to disregard the possibility that the rear suspension is just too soft. Either pre-load wrong or worn spring.

    Because I don’t want sacrificial foot pegs - the hero blobs protect the pegs - much cheaper- and much safer as less likely to dig in and change your trajectory

    My rear suspension is new; I replaced the old one, which was too soft, with a Shock Factory M-Shock. But that doesn't solve the raising problem, which is why I ordered this 30mm jack-up kit.

    Agree to a point re shock but I like the fact that the suspension is a little more “compliant” giving a more comfortable ride than many modern bikes so don’t wish to change that aspect

    You right this aspect is important to keep. The shock-factory suspension can be adjusted manually with a simple knob, one soft side and one hard side.

    Also owned my 1979 Bonnie T140E from new!

    but they still wear away when they touch - much better & cheaper to wear/replace hero blobs
